AB The clinical presentation of diabetic gastropathy varies, and a diagnosis usually must be confirmed with tests that evaluate the structure and function of the upper gut. Although glucose control, dietary changes, and drug therapy are the current mainstays of treatment, they may not be effective. Gastric pacing, a new technique that stimulates gastric motility, may give physicians another management tool.
