AB Despite the downturn in the incidence of many sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), some—particularly genital herpes and genital warts—are epidemic, and syphilis is seeing a resurgence. This article covers how to recognize, diagnose, and manage common STDs and how their presentation and treatment differ in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.
